Cancelling and changing a lesson
The cancellation rule
The cancellation rule belongs to the school. It is fixed on your booking when you book, so a later change by the school does not move the deadline on a lesson you already have. There are two kinds of rule:
- Hours before the start. A number of hours, for example 24. Some courts have longer deadlines, and schools can follow them. The screen says 「開始の{{hours}}時間前を過ぎてからのキャンセルは、返金されません。」
- Calendar day. You are free to cancel until 0:00 on the day before the lesson (or on an earlier day the school chose). The screen gives the exact deadline, in the school's timezone. A new school starts on this rule, "from 0:00 the day before the lesson", by default. Older schools keep the hours rule they had.
Tapping Cancel booking (「予約をキャンセル」) shows the rule that applies to this booking before you confirm. The text comes from the same rule the server uses, so the two agree. The sentence depends on whether the deadline has passed, whether you paid with a lesson credit, and whether the card has already been charged.
Who pays what
| Who cancels | Before the deadline | After the deadline |
|---|---|---|
| You (member) | Nothing is charged. A lesson credit you used comes back, with its original expiry date. | The full lesson price is charged. A lesson credit you used stays spent. The coach is still paid. |
| The coach | Full refund to you if you were charged. A credit you used comes back as a make-up credit (振替). You are not charged. | The same as before the deadline. You are not charged. |
| The school office | The office records a reason, and the reason decides who bears the court fee and whether a lesson credit comes back. | The same rules apply with the office's reason. |
A coach cancels from the lesson's detail screen, after confirming, with one reason: Illness (体調不良), Schedule conflict (予定の変更), or Other (その他). The reason is what the school records. The app then tells you what was done: nothing charged, a make-up credit, or a refund.
